BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS:

You have chosen to participate in a performing arts camp to improve your skills as an actor, singer, and dancer.  We have professionals ready to work with you and help you set and reach goals.  It is expected that you, as the student, will care as much as (or more than) your teachers about the quality of your experience here at the DCT Summer Education Program.

Here are some general guidelines for our behavior expectations.

1.                 Students will have excellent attendance during the camp session.  (Attendance will be taken daily.  We appreciate a call from parents if your child is going to be late or absent.)

2.                 Students will participate to their best ability in all aspects of the program.  Even if singing is not your “thing”, please make a good effort.  Negative energy brings everyone down and it is a difficult hurdle to overcome once it has been introduced.

3.                 Keep a positive attitude!  You need to work well with everyone – that’s the nature of this business!  There is no room for stars, divas, or prima donnas!  Please be positive in your support of others in the program.  There are no “put-downs”, no “cliques”, and no excluding others.  Be a role model – someone others want to work with, play with, and be like.

4.                 Treat all students, teachers, apprentices, and staff with respect.

5.                 No inappropriate language.

6.                 Stay out of “off-limit” areas (basement, third floor, storage areas).  You will be shown what areas you are allowed to be in on the first day of camp.

7.                 Buddy System – Please ask if you need to leave the room for anything (bathroom, drink, first aid.)  Those that are in Cabaret Kids & Rising Stars should use the buddy system whenever you travel without a staff member.

8.                 Work!  Like school, there is work to be done here.  You are receiving instruction about how to act, sing, and dance.  You will have to work during camp hours, and you will probably have a little homework – learning lines, music, practicing a dance.  The more effort you put into your work, the more you learn, and the better your performance will be!

9.                 Have Fun!  Like play, your experience should be fun!  You are here because you like to perform and are interested in growing your talent and skills!  But, relax and enjoy the experience, the instructors, and the friends you will make!

10.             As a safety precaution, all campers are signed in upon arrival, and signed out in the afternoon.  Students are not permitted to leave the building at any time during the day.
